Angry about my ultrasound

So I was able to schedule my first ultrasound today and it not until I'm 12, almost 13 weeks. Ok while that sucks ill live. But they informed me that I can't look at the screen and I can't see anything and no one can be in there with me. She said she makes up for it at the 20 week one. Um, what. You can't make up for that. I'm so mad but I have zero choice on here I go. Ugh...this might just suck.

Re: Angry about my ultrasound

  • That's ridiculous! I'm sorry! Maybe you should see if you can find a different doc or see if your area has ultrasound places that do it. Did they say why?

  • I truly have no option to go anywhere else because of our location. We are on a remote island in the middle of the Atlantic. There at no ultrasound places around either:. They didn't say why and I guess many other women have out in complaints but nothin

  • Still crazy my doc let me see everything from day one and it comforted me I mean yeah there were some issues here and there but being able to see what's going on it helps allot. But yet I'm probably the only one who ever wanted to see her own plesentia af
  • What?! Why?! My doctor even popped in a dvd and recorded it and I'm just over 7 weeks (or so I thought, he said I'm a little earlier than that). I would be angry too!

  • It really sucks you har no other option. My first u/s was in emergency and the tech wouldn't let my DH stay in the room. I refused to let her touch me unless he could stay. Needless to say, he was in that room. I refuse to be pushed around. This is my pre

  • Maybe I just don't fully understand. Why would they not let you see the screen or have anyone with you? That would bumm me out... I always brought my DH or my mom with me and it was nice to have them there. Good luck, that is tough
  • The only time I couldn't look at the screen was because they were trying to locate the baby or get a better look and had the screen faced more towards them so they could see it better. I'd at least ask why that rule is there.

  • Im sorry but What "rule"? It's NOT a medical rule. I watched every second of my early ultrasounds with my husband holding my hand. This is doctor preference. Not a rule. If nothing else they should be able to explain clearly why they have this preference.
