pack it or leave it??

What are some things that you STM's packed for the hospital but ended up not needing, and was well just more stuff to pack around and try not loose? I feel like my list is so huge, and wonder if I even need all this. Any take on this subject? Nursing pillow is one big thing I don't know if I NEED to pack or can just use a regular pillow at the hospital cause I think we will have our hands full enough with all the other stuff.

  • Nursing pillow was very useful for me.

Last time I packed makeup, straightening iron, and all my shampoos/lotions/etc. Ain't nobody got time for that.

  • I'm a FTM as well and was wondering the same about the nursing pillow.  My friend who just had a baby told me she wished she had brought hers. I was thinking of just leaving it in our vehicle and having DH run and grab it if I decide I want it.&nb

  • I think a nursing pillow is still one of my top five must bring essentials for baby #2. I wanted to be able to give myself the best chance possible for learning how to nurse well. For me, I needed that boppy! I also needed my chapstick, camera, cell, l

  • Never used a nursing pillow. Make up and flat iron were a waste.

I am taking Gatorade this time. Last time I was allowed clear fluids. They only had soda and water. I didn't want soda and during 30hrs of labor some Gatorade or other sugar

  • I brought a nightgown but never wore it (I had a c/s and just wore the gown the whole time). I found a robe and slippers helpful when walking around the halls though.  I didn't bring a boppy but ended up sending MH home to grab it along with my own p

  • I used the nursing pillow to sit on because I couldn't sit flat on my butt and just used a regular pillow to prop up DD to nurse.
