Hello Ladies,
Sorry for a similar question but I'm looking for an OB/GYN doc in the Milwaukee. I've lived with my hubby in Milwaukee for 6 years and have been wanting to switch to a local doc for years but never did it. Now that we got our BFP this past weekend I have the motivation! I'm completely clueless and would love to know all opinions [good, bad] before we swtich.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts and insights!
Re: Another Milwaukee Area Question
Congrats!!!
I just switched from an Aurora doctor (West Allis Women's Pav.) to a doctor at Froedtert Hospital and I could not be happier. I did a lot of research and quite a bit of networking with local Milwaukee area mom's and some nurses/physicians in the area. I met with my new doctor a couple of weeks ago and toured the hospital this past weekend, I personally could not be happier with my decision. This is my first go around but I know several mom's who delivered there that rave about it. I did hear some scary stories from some of the other hospitals. But I am sure those stories are at any hospital so you really have to rely on your gut instinct when you meet a physician and visit a hospital. I would tour the hospitals before choosing your physician. The hospital was the main reason for my move. I also liked the fact that Children's is at my fingertips should something go wrong.
Good luck!!
I delivered both of my sons at the Women's Pavilion and had a great experience. I am currently seeing Dr McAvoy (you see all of the doctors and/or midwives during pregnancy) and really like him. I have seen all of the doctors and Allie McNeil (midwife). I liked Dr McAvoy, Dolan and Mokrohisky the best for the doctors and though Allie McNeil was awesome as well. I would highly recommend the practice.
I saw Dr Brian Bear when I was pregnant with my first son and would avoid him. He is pretty arrogant and you literally wait about 1-2 hours for every appointment. I wish I were exaggerating.
I also delivered both of my kids at the Women's Pavilion and had a good experience both times. AND I also was a long time patient of Dr. Bear's and can second everything Irish City Girl said and then some ...
Dr. Powell delivered my son (after Bear left while I was in the middle of pushing) and she was fantastic. I have since switched to her group and have been much happier.
I am also currently seeing the doctors in this practice at the West Allis Women's Pavilion. I like knowing all the doctors and midwives so there aren't any surprises come delivery day (August 2013). I have had a great experience so far, everyone has been very nice, supportive and available for questions.
