I wish my MIL wasn't so dependant. H stresses about her a lot. She's been through more than I can ever imagine; her dad was abusive, she lost both parents and her sister all within the same year, her H was abusive, and she struggled with infertility for 15 years before adopting DH, and she lost her H 10 years ago. She has several mental disorders that she medicates. She requires constant checking in from H, her youngest brother and sister, a nurse, and a therapist.

I feel terrible that I complain about her a lot, but she has absolutely no boundaries and no filter on her mouth. She's extremely fragile, so we can't say too much to her about her behavior. We just try to ignore it, which is difficult to do when you have to see her/talk to her so often.
