Curriculum?

Hi, so my husband and I have agreed to homeschool our daughter (who is in public school kindergarten currently) this fall. She will be in the first grade. I am so overwhelmed researching all the different curriculums and/or methods of teaching. For those that have already begun homeschooling, how did you choose? Any tips or advice to help?

    I was honeschooled myself growing up and knew for my first year I wanted a curriculum that was clearly planned out for me with complete lesson plans. I chose one that we did while I was growing up called LifePacs published by Alpha Omega Publishing.

    I think the best way to start is to talk to other homeschooling moms.  Ask them what they use and what they like/didn't like about what they've tried.  That's how I learned about what we would start with.  I ended up going with Saxon for

    Some curriculum websites let you print off sample pages or view them. We currently use Alpha Omega horizons for Mth and Life PAC for language arts for first grades. I'm not particularly thrilled with the Life Pacs because I feel like it has been a lot

    Thank you all for the help! I do think I need something more structured and put together, at least until we get a feel for how this is all going to work out. I'm going to go check out some of the stuff you guys mentioned now...thanks again!

    It is overwhelming to choose or even think about curriculum.  I agree, talk with other homeschoolers to find out what they use, what they like and don't like, and why.  I checked out a couple of books at my library to start learning about hom

    Next year will be our first year ds1 will be in kinder! My kiddos go to preschool two days a week so ds2 will stay there until he is in kinder. We are going to use Saxon phonics and math mainly because I am familiar with them since I used them when I taug
