    Save any free magnets you can get!  We had a bunch of random things (political, consignment sale dates, extra poison control numbers - we had at least 10 lol).  I cut up dollar store sponges into shapes and hot glued the magnets on the back.&

    A tablespoon of baking soda in the water while boiling eggs makes them super easy to peel.

    DD's train set is in a shoebox.  Not exactly innovative, but it's working.  Her crayons and playdoh (aka "supervision required toys") are stored in a big box that I got a fancy tea set in for Christmas.

    My tip: when searching for "character" stuff always try Kmart. I'm not really a Kmart shopper, but they always have the biggest selection of character clothing and bedding.
