TTC After a Loss

autoimmune progesterone dermatitis (DD mentioned)

Has anyone heard of this or anyone actually dealt with it?

I have been dealing with this "rare" disease, I guess you could call it, and just recently was diagnosed with it. My problem actually started after my DD was born 8 Years ago, that every month, right after ovulation, I would break out into this itchy nasty rash all over my face, neck and arms.

I went to so many dermatologists wanting to find out what was wrong with me and they would all say that everything was fine and normal. well when you are dealing with a recurring problem every month and no one seems to be able to find a solution, you start writing down all the symptoms, dates of occurrence and so forth, and so I did just that. Well, by doing that I found that is happens right after I ovulate and it clears by the second day im on my period.

anyways, It took 6 years for me to finally convince a doctor that I have a hormonal problem, or I thought I did.  Untill I was explained that it's not that my hormones are off balance, in fact, I developed an allergic reaction to progesterone.

I am apparently allergic to "progesterone" levels when they spike :(

this happens during the luteal phase of my cycle, and the only way they say I can get better or "beat it" is by going thru menopause...

this seriously sucks.  I don't know if that means that my journey to TTC has to end..

I just want to know if any of you ladies have heard of this or have had any experience with it ?

its a long shot considering its a rare dissorder.. :(

Have you seen/are you seeing an RE? They are much more experienced at dealing with issues that can cause you to have trouble getting pregnant than a regular OB/GYN or other doctor. I don't have what you have (and I'm
