WWYD?

I've been in contact with a few hospitals in Chicago. They will review my MRI and decide if I do need surgery. If I do, it's one night in the hospital. Two of the hospitals, including the one I'm leaning towards, allow baby to room with mom if she's the food source.

H thinks it would be best for both of us if I leave him with my sister. He thinks the hospital will stress Howell out and I will benifit from the rest from skipping MOTN feedings...although I'll probably still pump once. I feel like I'll be stressed leaving him and Howell isn't as familiar with my sister as he was before we moved. We will be there a couple days before, though and he loves his cousins. As crazy as she is, I know he'd get great care from her.

My biggest worry is my supply taking a hit. I keep telling myself I have worked through some hits in the past and brought it back up but I don't know. What would you do?

  • I would say I agree with Kiki and scout. Although I do have a condition in there if H is at all like A. We have already hit stranger danger. Anyone that he is not regularly familiar with now will cause him to scream if they hold him. I would test it in th

  • Many, many, bf babies sttn and their mom's bf supply is fine. Both you and baby will be fine. Remember that there are natural deviations from a "schedule", too - sometimes babies nap through a feeding, etc. and it all works out. Especially this late in

  • I'm with everyone else. I've never had a patient who could sleep soundly completely through the night without some Ambien. A hospital is loud, even in the middle of the night.. especially with a shift change at 11 and 6 or 7. I would leave him with your s

  • We've definitely hit the stranger anxiety stage but he's so social and loves other kids. I'm banking on his cousins to keep him happy. It's too bad H won't be there. He will be joining us for part of it shortly after. A great many babies and mommas have s

  • Not sure if anymore covered this. But, I assume you'll have some sort of anesthesia. I don't think they'll want you to nurse for 24 hours after. That's how it was with me. I had to go in for outpatient surgery after DD1, I didn't heal correctly after chil
