What do you mix your purees with?

I've been making LO purees, and have mainly been using breastmilk. However, I don't always have fresh breastmilk on hand, and I don't want to defrost a bag of frozen just to use a small amount in a puree. I asked the pedi if I could use water and the NP said I should use breastmilk or formula...but if I were using jarred baby food, it would have water in it, right? So I don't really see why I can't use water. What do you use?

I was wondering the same thing only I use formula. Unfortunately, with working full time and going to school full time and active with my mom's group, I don't have time to make purees but i do plan on using organic jarred purees. We haven't started

I bought silicone iced cube trays and I pump and make very small BM cubes to add to cereal and pures so none is wasted.

So far, most of the veggies I puree has enough liquid in it. This AM I roasted carrots and they were a bit dry, so I added a little bit of water. I figured the roasted carrots lost water in the oven, so it should be okay to add back a little.

Yes, I don't usually mix water in but when I do, I just use some of the water I used to steam the veggies.

I use breastmilk when I can, I use the water from steaming or boiling & if I am doing fresh like banana or avocado then I use filtered water. I know the other ladies are saying mashing them is thin enough but LO needs hers thinner.

She likes her foods a bit thicker, so it works for us. I've given her sweet potato carrots so far. Going to try avacodo soon.
