2nd Trimester

I know another Movement Question..

FTM here.

I am 18 weeks today (or at least I am suppose to be).

I started feeling slight movements (goldfish wiggling, bubbles that I know are not gas) at 16 weeks. I felt something at least everyday.

For the past couple of days though, he or she hasn't been that active. Movements are still slight. I am overweight (although most of my fat is not in my tummy), I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. Is this something I should worry about? Or is it normal to feel sporadic movements at this stage? I know kick counts do not begin until 28 weeks or so.

The last time I heard the HB was a week ago. A/S is in two weeks..a little nervous!

  • This early on the movements are rarely consistent... What you are experiencing is completely normal. They dont have you start kick counts till 3rd trimester for this very reason. I know its hard, but just take a deep breath. You still have

  • What you're feeling right now is normal and it can be very sporadic at times. I didn't start to feel my son move consistently until about 20-21 weeks. Don't worry yourself too much. You'll feel your little one all the time soon enough. I promise! =)
  • From personal experience, I didn't really feel much of any movement until 20 weeks. Yet during my a/s LO was wiggling a lot! Like, the tech had trouble getting measurements because she wouldn't stay still. Then at our last OB apointment (end of 20 week

  • I'm 23 weeks and only in the past week or so would I say I consistently feel movement everyday. And it's not throughout the day- it's almost always at night, occasionally during the day. I wouldn't worry at all!

  • It is unreasonable to expect consistent, regular, and noticeable movements at 18 weeks. Calm down.

If it would make you feel better maybe look into buying a stethoscope, it should be able to pick up fetal heartbeat

  • The answers are making me feel better..thank you.

I read, from multiple sources, that one can hear the heartbeat, with a stethoscope, starting at 20 weeks. Of course, this depends on maternal and fetal factors. So these ladie

  • My 20 week ultrasound was the same this little jumping bean was wiggling all over the place! The ultrasound tech was like this little booger can't stay still, I've been feeling baby movements since I was about 16 weeks! Enjoy the movements ladies an pray
  • I don't know if this is the case for you but I was told I have an anterior placenta and it would take longer to feel consistent movements.  Once in a while I will feel him very low down in my abdomen, but the last few days I haven't felt much.
