Pumping at work?

How many times a day?  How long each time?  And how much per session do you get?

I bf at home.  I pump at work.  I pump 2 times a day, once in the morning, once in the afternoon.  I go nurse Cam at lunch.  I have to pump for 30 minutes each time and only get 4-5 oz each time.  It sucks.  I am taking fenugreek and still barely get enough.  I need 10 oz a day.

Re: Pumping at work?

  • I pump 3x at work (7am, 1145am and 215pm) and I get between 10-12 ounces a day. Not enough for LO so I often pump in the evening as well to make up for it and sometimes on weekends too to create a buffer. In the morning I get more than in the afternoon, b

  • I pump twice a day for 20 minutes each. I usually get around 5-6 sometimes 7oz if I'm lucky on the first pump and only 4-5oz on the second. DS gets one formula a bottle at daycare because I just can't keep up with him and I am okay with that.

  • I pump 3 times... Once at 530am so I go to work empty, once around 9am, and again around noon... 20 minutes each. I pick LO up around 330pm.

She typically eats 5 3oz bottles a day... One from DH at 630am, and 4 at daycare. I usually pump 58

  • I hate pumping at work. I do 3 20 minute sessions. I nurse DS at home at 7, pump at 10, 12:30, and 3:30. I get between 12 and 14oz total. DS takes 16oz at daycare so I'm also waking overnight to pump. Blah.

  • Have you considered renting a hospital grade pump? I noticed a HUGE difference in time and output.

  • I get up at 4:00 am for the day just so I can pump before LO wakes up.  At this session, I can typically get 8-9 oz total.  Then I nurse at 6:00 am.

At work, I *try* to pump 3x.  But, I sometimes only squeeze 2 sessions in if it's

  • I try to pump 3 times a day, sometimes I can only do two.  I usually get about 4 oz when I pump at 7 am then 3-4 when I pump at 10 and 2.  I wish I had time to squeeze one more in to keep my supply up but it's so busy it's hard to get out to do

  • I pump twice at work at 10 and 2. I usually get 12 to 16 ounces in the first session and 8 to 10 ounces in the second session. LO eats 12 ounces (although once he ate 18 ounces!) while at my mom's or daycare.

  • I nurse at 6, and pump at 10:30 & 2:30 for 30 minutes. What I pump varies because sometimes I pump before work and sometimes I'm too lazy. Yesterday I pumped 18 ozs in those 2 sessions and my baby only takes 9 ozs at daycare.

  • I just became a SAHM, however I pumped 3x at work with DS1 at 10am 12pm and 3pm for about 20 minutes. It kept up my supply for 18 months when I got pregnant with my twins.
