Hi All. I was always planning on returning to work full time but now that LO is here, I think part time would be best. Is anyone in the same boat? Has anyone already done this? What did/will you do and have any advice to give?
I am doing this. However, we planned this before I went out on mat leave. I will be working Tues, Thurs and Fri. After we lost our first son I knew I need time to spend with yhis son, and just two days on the weekend wouldn't cut it.&
TTC since 11/2009; Lap/HSG/Hysteroscopy: 5/2011 (endometriosis - removed; endocervical polyp - removed; high pressure in bilateral tubes - cleared)
BFP #1: 8/4/11; DS1 born sleeping on 11/16/11 at 19w1d
I asked in August to go from FT to PT and was given the OK by my boss a few days before I had DS! I knew I needed more time at home because while I enjoy my job, I don't enjoy it THAT much and it was financially doable.
I'm going back four days per week instead of five, which is still considered full time at my job. I talked to my boss about it months ago, but it was just finalized and I'm so relieved.
Are/were any of you salaried? If so, how did you negotiate your pay going part time?
Did any of you have to "sell" your going PT to your boss? What'd you say?
Just wondering since almost everyone at my office is FT and salaried...

For those of you that are salaried and just did an even split (50% hours for 50% pay), did you discuss how to handle "hour creep" (i.e., not ending up working 30 hours a week for 50% pay)? I ask because I would like to work 20 hrs/week but as a FT empl
