Frustrated

It took my son and I awhile to get the hang of breastfeeding and it has been 3 weeks since we started, but for the past week I have been pretty frustrated with it. When I breastfeed him, he is feeding every hour. (This growth spurt is never going to end.) Then when I give him formula he is going 3 to 4 hours without feeding. Does that mean that my milk is not really sticking with him. I know that it takes longer for a baby to digest formula, but I am starting to feel like a cow. Any thoughts?
