Anyone else dealing with a baby who won't sleep or eat much?

I'm starting to think my baby is high maintenance after reading the ounces and day schedule posts below. It sounds like a lot of babies are sleeping longer stretches at night, are awake more during the day, and are eating more.  I know every baby develops differently but I'm just curious if anyone else is having these problems.

DD  will be six weeks Thursday.  She wakes up every one and a half to two and a half hours at night and only eats 50-100 ML each time.  She's been eating a lot less at night lately.  The problem is she'll eat 50 then pass out milk drunk, but then wake up 30 min later because she's still hungry.  I try to wake her, but she won't eat more.  Even when she is full it can take 3 tries of putting her down to get her to sleep.  She did ths as a newborn too, then stopped for two weeks and is now doing it again.

She sleeps most of the day.  I've been trying to keep her up a bit, but she just gets surly.  If she's not eating or sleeping she's crying.  I can't play with her or read to her because she just cries or falls asleep.

 Anyone else dealing with this?

  • Our nights are like that as well. He will go longer stretches during the day in someone or somewhere comfy but at night he is up at least every two hours and it takes forever for him to eat. So really sleeping for 45 min to 1.5 hours at a time. Kinda sux

  • God yes. I actually dread my LO being awake because he just cries or I exhaust myself trying everything I can to entertain him. He has gotten worse too in that he falls asleep at the boob and wakes as soon as I try to move him. We literally cannot put him

  • Have you tried stripping her down to only a diaper during feedings, that's what I had to do with DD1 to keep her awake enough to finish eating.

  • I am glad you posted this.  I just told my husband last night I feel like the only one going through this.  DD wakes up from painful farts and just plain wants to be in my arms all day and night.  When I take her out and she is crying peopl
