do you go to all the preschool/DC bday parties (schedule permitting)?

I'm curious. This year we've been inundated w/ invites for the 4 yr olds. Some are no brainers- the kids we hear about all the time & can see the friendship when we are there, other parties have schedule conflicts, but there are the others, I'm just not sure- I know who all the kids are in the class b/c I pay attention to their names & see them most days but when we get invited to a kid's party who is never mentioned by our kids when we ask who they played with or when they tell stories about school, I"m just not sure about what is appropriate.

How do you decide which to go to, or do you just go to all that your schedule will allow?

I know the cost of gift or conflict w/ too many other weekend activities might come up but we don't live near family, have only lived here a year and don't know a ton of ppl so we don't have jam packed weekends. So in fact, these parties are kind of nice for us in terms of meeting other parents & whatnot.

If you are all havi g fun, why not go? I think it's nice that the whole class is invited- nobody feel left out.

DD's been invited to a handful and the only times we didn't go was due to conflicting schedules. Even if DD isn't known to play with a particular host I see it as a way to start forming those relationships.

So far, yes, we have gone to every party he has been invited to.

We've gone to all that we've been able to, schedule wise. I think it's important to meet the parents, we've already been at this daycare a year + and will be here another almost 2 years or so if nothing changes.

We got inundated this past month. Apparently everyone in Grace's class was born in March. I tend to go to the parties that either sound really fun and I know she will enjoy, or the ones of the parties where I know the LOs mom. We live about 45 minutes awa
