Daytime Sleep Patterns

I was just wondering when daytime sleep patterns start to develop? His overnights are pretty predictable and so are the mornings but the rest of the day is a crap shoot. Some days he eats every 3 hours, some days it's every 2, or a combination. His naps still seem random. Is this normal at this age (7.5 weeks if your mobile). When will I have some sort of schedule and is there anything I can or should be doing to make that happen?
