So I know I'm a new mom but this girl on my fb posted a pic of her giving her one month old pured carrots. Serious sideeye. I just had to share my disbelief.

    having said that, my mil suggested i give my son a bottle of water to help fill him up when he was a week old and i was supplementing waiting for enough milk to come in... some people just have no clue!

    Some people are truly clueless when it comes to things like this.  Who knows... I wouldn't be surprised if her ped told her to do it.  I've heard of some terrible advice given by pedis regarding first foods.  SMH.

    On the other end of the spectrum, DH's aunt didn't give solids until her babies were 10 months old. What is the purpose in waiting that long? Is it bad to wait so long?

    I heard that it's not as bad to wait longer for foods. I've heard of some people not doing solid foods until 12-months! I think the idea is to avoid allergies and waiting until they are completely ready for solids.

    I heard some statistics on the radio this morning about most moms giving their babies solid food too early. Of the statistics said 1 in 10 moms have given their child solid foods before 4 months (anything earlier than 6 mos was considered too ea

    Someone I know posted on Facebook that her daughter has had rice cereal in her bottle since she was 3 weeks. Based on the post I think it was just the bottle before bed, but I thought that was pretty crazy.
