I get irrationally irritated about this thing my MIL does. Our front door has a window in it and there are also two small windows on the side. Part of these windows are sort of frosted (for lack of a better word) so you can't see through it, but there are little areas in the design where the window is normal. When MIL knocks on the door she peeks through the little windows and when I walk up to answer the door I can see her moving her head around trying to see what is going on in the house. It drives me absolutely insane. I've dealt with this for seven years now, but something about my hormones right now makes it nearly impossible to handle. If I hear a knock and see a nosy little eyeball peeking through the window I almost want to scream. Can't she be normal and knock, step back a few feet, and patiently wait until someone answers? Can't she also call before she comes so she isn't always interrupting naps or dinner or everything else we have going on?
This is the same woman that once entered our home unannounced on a random Saturday afternoon before we had kids and walked into our bedroom while DH and I were having sex. She deserved what she saw. Who does that?
Anyways, does anyone know if they sell some kind of clear contact paper that you can't see through on one side so I can put it over the windows? I fear I'm going to lose my mind soon!!
And while I'm at it, does anyone have a cure for MILs who constantly compare their children (and other grandchildren) to yours as a way to one-up you? For example, yesterday we mentioned that our kids are starting swim classes. MIL mentioned how she had DH in swim classes at 9 months and he was swimming at age 2 (I call BS and so does DH). She does the same thing about everything. She comes over and comments about the toy mess and then says how DH learned to put all of his toys away on the shelves all by himself by age 2. I just want to respond back and tell her that maybe if she stopped buying so many junky toys for my kids that we wouldn't have so much toy mess and they could handle putting away their toys on a shelf.
I may lose my mind.

Re: MIL Vent and a ?
Dd likes to open the bathroom curtains. We found sticky frosted window paper at home dept.
And dh's grandmother drives me insane. She is always making comments about how small dd was at birth 5 lb 15 oz... How she isn't scrawny
And YES to the comparisons. My earlier post about sttn is cause of her and how her kids sttn at 8
Sorry but that would drive me insane too. I'm glad I'm not the only one annoyed with those little quirks they have!
Mine is always comparing my kids to her other grandson when he was a baby. She has 6 in to
My mother is the queen of this! My sister put up a sign on her door in her pp hormones that said visits by appt only- please call! LOL I made skinny curtains to go over those side of the door windows. Home depot sells removable
It sounds to me like she is trying to compete with you. My MIL used to do things like yours is doing, comparing what her kids did to what ours are doing, but we do not see her much now. I think she wishes her son/my DH never married because
