Any ideas on what I can get the daycare staff for Christmas? Originally, I was only going to get something for the owner and director since I know them both (I graduated from HS and LVC with the director and the owner is her mother). When I picked up Andrew yesterday, the owner said she found his Christmas present and can't wait to give it to him. I'm not sure if I should get them something for the center or if I should try to find something a bit more personal for them. It's a small center, so I feel bad if I don't get the others anything, even though I don't really know them. There's only 3 of them, so it's not a huge deal, but DH doesn't think we should feel obligated to get them all something. Any thoughts, ideas?!
Re: Daycare gifts
I was the director of a daycare a year or so ago.... at Christmas time some parents gave small gifts while others did not. It was nothing that was expected, appreciated yes, expected no.
I would go for something small and personal for the owner and director (since you wanted to). If you want to give to everyone, cookies, chocolate, even ordering a pizza for them to share at lunch time would be nice.
Again do not feel obligated to get them anything, but again I am sure they would appreciate it!
Good luck
I feel the same way. Last year, I only had one teacher to buy for, but this year, I feel like I need to get something for 5 people that have been involved with my daughter all year. Last year, I did a gift certificate to Target for her main teacher. I really don't know what I'll do this year yet...maybe smaller gift certificates for something. And I'll probably buy a book for the school, too. I'll be watching this thread since I need ideas, too!
I am having the same problem. In Tori's room, there are 4 main people there every day, but then there's 2-3 subs in from time to time, and I don't want to leave anyone out, but that's alot of people! (and I don't even know all their names, to get individual gifts). Someone suggested to me to get them lunch one day, so I think that's what I'll do. There's a Pizza Hut right down the road, so I think I'll get those new pasta things, they may like that more than pizza. But I'm interested in seeing others ideas too!
That is tough and I think I would do small gifts for the teachers. I would probably end up making oreo truffles or cookies putting them in a nice white box and tying with a Christmas Ribbon since there is more than 2. In your case I might buy a yankee candle or something special for the owner and director. My sister is a 2nd grade teacher and some of her kids last year purchased her boxes of chocolate, some made homemade cookies or fudge, some gave her really nice stuff like a little Longaberger basket. She doesn?t expect anything from her students and realizes that the parents? all have varying levels of disposable income.
I also like the lunch idea.
