Baby Showers

Baby shower favors that aren't cheesy?

Hello everyone! I'm having a baby shower for my daughter in June and I'm looking for ideas for favors that aren't cheesy. I don't want to give people something they are just going to throw away when they get home, because they'll never use it. Nobody really wants a little cradle shape candy dish sitting around their house. No one is going to use that ducky shaped soap, and how many cheap candles can one person have?

What are some of the best favors you've gotten and/or what are your suggestions? For a good laugh, feel free to tell me your worst favor you've received!

Info that may help with your suggestion: there will be about 30 people there,  budget on favors is about $4.00/pp, it will be just the women, and we are not big on drinking. Oh, and it's a girl!! YAY!!! Although I haven't pinned down a "theme" yet, it will be pink and girly.

  • I'm always a fan of edible favors, they don't take up space/clutter like the favors you mentioned above, and they are a sweet way to end of a party. Put them each in cellophane bags (you can buy them in the Wilton/cake decorating aisle at Michael's or

  • I think all favors are cheesy. When I see them at a grown-up party, I know for sure the hostess is NOKD.

Spend the money on better drinks or more flower arrangements.

  • Food always works. Recently I went to a baby shower where the mom was expecting a little girl and for favors she had shades of pink nail polish. It was the best favor and so cute.

  • (lurker here) I love edible favors and you can usually keep the cost relatively low.  I made fondant covered rice crispy onesies for my friends shower last year and have also made personalized sugar cookies for bridal showers in the past.&nbs

This is by no means is a must however it would be so nice if you were able to find out any food allergies and have a favor that was appropriate for them. Again it's just a nice gesture and by no means necessary.

  • Another idea is a bottle of Bath and Body Works hand soap-Sweet Pea as a scent. You can usually get them or under $4 if you have time to wait for a sale.

  • I absolutely recommend a little stack of scratch-off lottery tickets.  We usually do bundles of 3-5 of them as a prize for games, drawings, etc.  They are always a big hit, and people love to scratch them off immediately to see if they've won
