Rough night

Oliver had a rough night last night, which in turn made a rough night for me!

He STTN for 3 nights, but yesterday he kept waking up during his naps and crying. I finally let him sleep on me for an hour just so he could nap.

Then he woke up every hour last night screaming. I gave him some Hylands, thinking maybe it was his teeth, but it didn't help.

Any ideas on what I can look for? I have no idea what that was all about. He'd lay down with no crying and would start to fall asleep, then he would just wake up screaming. I'm confused!

TIA for any advice!

Re: Rough night

  • Anything else going on like a recent cold? My first thought would be to see how he is today but if he is still really fussy it could be ear infection related..

  • We had a rough one too. Austin was up every couple of hours I think it was his teeth. He just seemed uncomfortable last night. My only advice is hang in there. We go back and forth on sttn all the time.

  • I'm sorry Jenn. That sucks for you both!

I'm not in any advice giving positions over here. I just wanted to let ya know I care. You're doing such a great job juggling everything.

I think the weekends kinda mess with my babies. M

  • No advice here either. Just wanted to let you know you're not alone. We also had a rough night. Up crying every hour or so and lots of nursing.

  • Sorry y'all had a rough night!

My first thought is teething.  Second thought if that's ruled out would be either congestion and/or ear infection (those two tend to go together unfortunately).

With ear infections, LO will usually

  • I didn't read everyone else's responses I'm on my way to a meeting and don't have time but I wanted to say this is exactly how Jack was on Saturday.

    He has and ear infection.

I'd call and see if you can get him in. It will only take

Teething? Hylands and those sorts of things never really helped eased the pain in our house. Ear infection? Separation anxiety? Reaction to something he ate? Being 7 months old? ;)  Sorry you had a rough night, but I found that this happens off and o

He's right on schedule. There's a push back around this time, traditionally, and it can last a few days.
