  Yes, I have given it before. He had been crying inconsolably for an hour and nothing I tried was working. It helped him to settle down and be able to fall asleep. I hate to give him medicine, so I always make sure that nothing else will work first.

  We used ibuprofen (motrin) and that seemed to work pretty well.  Our pedi approved because of inflammation in the gums

  I'm going to have to try the half dose option you guys have suggested. DD has been up all night the last few nights and fussy throughout the day; I'm reaching my limit. I've been giving Baby Orajel but it doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot for her.
