hey ladies i was going to call my doctor but she's out of the office today and this is bothering me.

I really want to schedule my ultrasound to find out the sex asap, but I don't want to do that until the same time as my anatomy scan, so i don't need multiple ultrasounds. When is the earliest the anatomy scan is done so that it's viable?

maybe this is  a question for STM's, I'm not sure. i'm 15 weeks and two days, for any mobile bumpies.

    I was 19 weeks when we had ours done and found out gender.

    I am not sure what you mean by "viable"? 

    If you mean what is the earliest you can find out the sex then I've heard around 16 weeks. Though personally I would wait until around 20 weeks as those sex determinations tend to be more accurate. U

    I had my 1st at 19 wks 6 days. For this LO it will be 19 wks 5 days. Be patient, it will be here before you know it.

    18 weeks is generally the earliest... Even then, sometimes things just aren't developed enough. The earlier you test, the less reliable the results can be... especially in terms of finding out the sex.

    Just have patience! After a few weeks,

    FWIW, your doctor's office most likely won't schedule an U/S just to determine the sex of your baby.

    Every place is different but my OB-GYN doesn't do a seperate gender scan.  They do an anatomy scan between 18-20 weeks and you can find out the gender at that time too.  I know some ladies on my August board had elective u/s at outside compan

    Ditto prim and bliss. Also keep in mind that you can have your anatomy scan at 20 weeks and Lo may just never show the goods. It happens.

    We had an US at 16 weeks, 2 days. They were able to, very obviously, determine that Baby is a boy. My OB would not do the A/S until 20 weeks. The tech even made a comment that she likes to do them around 22 weeks bc the images they need of the heart ar

    You can do them earlier than 18 weeks but just keep in mind that the early you do them the bigger of a chance they won't be able to tell. There is a reason they do it between 18 20 weeks!

    I paid for an elective u/s at 16 weeks.  I had a few reasons for this.  One, my NT scan was at 11 weeks exactly, and my doctor will not do an anatomy scan before 20 weeks exactly...9 long weeks.  With my previous loss, I needed the reass
