Spotting @ 18 weeks

I'm exactly 18 weeks today and I began spotting this morning. Its not heavy but It's making me paranoid.

  • Do you also have cramping? Is bright red or pink or brown? My OB said to call in if there was cramping AND bleeding of bright red blood. Did yours give you any guidelines like that?

    I just posted this on my birth month board!

    When I was 18 weeks I had spotting. I ran through a list of reasons why--

    sex? no

    activity? no

    polyps? maybe

    constipation? yes.

    The bleeding was from a hemorrhoid (TMI)! Aw

  • Spotting can be normal, I had some at 11 weeks that ended up being nothing.

     That being said, you should always call your OB with any kind of bleeding/spotting immediately.

  • I spotted at about 15 weeks. I technically wasn't supposed to call but you know what.. I didn't give a crap. This is my baby and any type of blood is scary!

    It happened on a Saturday, I called the after hour line and got a very nice nurse. S
