Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

giving up naps. help

my lo has always been an awful sleeper- at 12 months she was fighting her 2nd nap so badly- it would take 2 hours to get her down and she would only sleep for a small while, so we cut that nap out. She has never had a consistent nap schedule, not because i havent tried, just because she fights it so hard.

we are down to one nap a day if we are lucky, sometimes no nap at all- because it takes more than an hour to get her to sleep. i have to lay with her or rock her (while she cries) and she STILL doesnt fall asleep. even if she skips her nap she will happily stay up until at least 9 pm, when it will take another hour to get her down at night.

is this her way of giving up naps completely? i get so frustrated that she wont go to sleep that i give up and let her skip. but im the only one there, dh is deployed, so its really hard for me.

dont even get me started on how she doesnt sttn.

also, shes in a toddler bed. going back to the crib is not an option, so i cant just leave her in there, because she will most definitely get up and play in her room.

 HELP.

    Also, they go thr

  • You might be right. And, if so, you have my condolences, because mommas need toddlers to nap.

  • i've been told it can take up to two weeks for a child to adjust to a schedule. my rec would be to skew everything earlier, b/c in my experience the earlier my son goes to bed the better he sleeps, but obv that's just one person's experience. try a very e
