Now I know why birth updates come a while after the baby's birth date. My baby is a week old today and I really should be sleeping instead of mobile bumping.
On Friday night 3/15 around 11 pm I got up to get a glass of water. I felt water leaking down the side of my pajama pants. I excitedly ran into the room to tell my dh. We got ready and headed to the hospital. Funny thing is, my husband had been out earlier in the evening and received the good news he was hired for a manager's position. These last few weeks had been stressful on both of us because his last position was eliminated four weeks before I was due. It was like after the good news my body finally relaxed and BAM my water broke.
We arrived at the hospital at midnight. The nurses confirmed my water broke. I was already contracting so I was left to progress most of the night. By 7 I was ready for my epidural, yet I didn't get it until 9. After that I was also able get some rest. By 2 pm I was fully dialated and ready to push. An hour later my doctor said I was progressing well and the baby would be delivered within the half hour. Yet fifteen minutes later with no baby I jokingly reminded my doctor of his pronouncement. Well one minute, an episiotomy and some extra tearing later I had my daughter. Tasiana Marguerite. She was born 3/16 at 3:16 pm. She was 8 lbs 5 oz, 20 3/4 in.
