1st Trimester

Is baby gone? (NEED SOME ADVICE)

So, my husband and I had tried for a year and a half to get pregnant, and just when we least expected it, YAY!  When I found out I was ecstatic and over the moon about my new little one, BUT, my anxiety also kicked in.  At 7 weeks I had my first ultrasound and was able to see my tiny peanut and find out that he/she had a very strong heartbeat.  At 9 weeks I had my basic info consultation to inform me of what to expect while pregnant.  After the consult my doctor told me he wanted to try to hear baby's heartbeat.  He did mention, however, that 95% of the time he does not hear it at 9 weeks.  He tried, and nothing.  I wasn't scared then because he insured me that it was normal. I am now 11 weeks and I am really scared.  I have NEVER had some of the symptoms other women experience.

Yes, my breasts are very sore, I am tired most of the time, I am hungry MOST of the time, I am gassy and bloated (especially by the end of the work day)...BUT no m/s or extreme food aversions.  What's worse, I don't seem to be getting any larger from week to week.

My baby is supposed to be the size of a lime this week and I am not sure if everything is okay.  I'm not any bigger and although I have not had any bleeding or extreme cramping to tell me it could be a m/c, I am SO scared.  My next appointment isn't for two weeks.  Should I call the doctor and ask?  Should I just stop worrying?  Are my concerns justified or simply crazy.  AHHH!  Need some advice!

  • This all sounds perfectly normal, try not to worry: the lime will not start peeking out from behind your pelvis until the end of the 12th week so the size change is not abnormal: consider yourself lucky that you are not bloated like crazy!: symptoms will

  • I've had the same pg side effects, but like you I havent thrown up, no really cravings or aversions. All of this is completely normal! This is how I felt with my DS and he's a great 2 year old. Try not to worry too much. 9 weeks is really early to try

  • Thank you so much!  I am a natural worrier, so I guess I am gonna worry considering this is baby number 1. Thank you for the reassurance that all will be well!  Have a blessed day!
  • With my first, I didn't have m/s for a while, and it was really mild when it did come.  Plus I didn't really start showing more than bloat till after first trimester.  Everyone is different.  Every pregnancy is different.  I'm feeling

That's not true, by your own admission you have had sore breasts. That is a very commonly experienced pregnancy symptom. Same thing with fatigue. So its not true

  • I'm annoyed with the doctor that tried to use the doppler at 9 weeks, but he did tell you that 95% of the time he can't hear it then. I had an appointment at 12 weeks and the doctor couldn't find the HB on the doppler, so don't worry about that one bit

  • For some reason people think morning sickness is the be all and end all - it's not.  You've got PLENTY of symptoms (more than some women with healthy pregnancies) so don't tie everything to whether or not you're puking or you'l drive yourself crazy.

  • I know how you feel because I am also a very anxious person. I was horrible my first pregnancy and I am determined to relax more this time around. Take the advise of the other ladies and just try to chill and enjoy this. I was around 16-18wks before I

  • If it makes you feel better, my dr couldn't find the heartbeat with Doppler at 11 and a half weeks! I cried in the appointment and really thought something was wrong,, but now I'm 20 weeks and baby is fine...strong heartbeat! I do have a tilted uterus

  • you sound totally normal.  the absence of bleeding is a VERY good sign.  the absence of nausea and/or a belly is nothing to worry about.  i had basically no morning sickness my entire pregnancy and i wasn't showing until 11-12 weeks, and ev

  • I completely understand your anxiety, but your doctor told you it was highly unlikely you'd hear the heartbeat. Chances are things are fine.
