Scared about transvaginal u/s

Sounds silly when I think about a 7 or 8 lb baby coming out of me, but I'm really nervous about getting the transvaginal u/s next Wednesday! Something about it just freaks me out.

What can I expect from it? What's it like? Thanks!

  • Don't be scared! It is not much different than your yearly pap. And once you see the little bean on the screen you'll forget how they are getting the picture.

  • It doesn't hurt at all. Just a little uncomfortable.

  • It's just like a dildo. Big Smile

I've had probably a hundred of them. They are no big deal.

  • I think a pap is 100x worse than a transvag u/s Had one last Monday and getting another this Monday. She kept asking if I was in pain...NOPE...but then they did the pap and I wanted to punch that chick right in the nose.

  • At least you're not I'm for a shocker lol. I got pregnant on pills the first appointment my doctor said she was going to do a TV ultrasound ... I'm like what? Didn't have that with jr. But it isn't bad lol
  • It's really just like using a tampon. I've had two and they don't hurt or anything, just a bit awkward but from what I hear when your pregnant you get use to awkward.

  • No biggie. A pap is WAY worse!!!

  • I will also add a transvag is better PREGNANT than not pregnant because not pregnant you usually have to drink 60+ ounces of water and let me tell you it sucks to have to hold that in while that thing is in you no matter what they say about you won't pee

  • I've had two and no issues either time. A little awkward, but once you see your baby on the screen you don't even think about it.

  • It's no biggie AT ALL. They cover you completely, depending on the person you may guide it in yourself. It's thin so it's not like a dildo in you lol

I had fun looking my fiance straight in the eye while we were getting it situated. Freaked

  • As most other posters said...no biggie at all!  During my very first one I was shocked at the length of the thing. I remember DH looking at each other with huge eyes! LOL no worries though!
