Are bottle warmers worth it?

I EBF but have been giving my baby a bottle of BM once a night to get her ready for when I go back to work next week. It takes me about 7-9 minutes to warm a bottle by putting it in a cup of hot water. I figured a bottle warmer would be faster, but the reviews are mixed. Anyone have a good one thats faster or easier than the old hot water method?

Re: Are bottle warmers worth it?

  • We use the munchkin warmer and it works great.  2 min and it's warm enough. I like that it has a water reservoir that lasts for 3-4 uses.

  • Our friends gave us theirs and we might have used it a few times. Now, it's just collecting dust.  So no, not worth it in my opinion.  Running the frozen bm under the hot water is much easier and/or letting sit in a cup of hot water works too.&n

  • I think it's worth it. The Munchkin one is like $20 at Target and you just put in a tiny bit of water, put in the bottle, turn it on and walk away. It shuts off on it's own in like 90 seconds or something. We had one with DS and got another one with DD.

  • YES!!!  We have the Kiinde Kozii and I love it!  Wouldn't even know what to do without one.  You can heat jars of food, frozen or refrigerated formula or BM.  My friend recommended it to me and I just love it. Takes all of the guess

  • We have a soup cup that we put 2 inches of water in, microwave for 2 minutes while we make a bttle, plop it in the hot water, change his diaper, and it's perfect. However, glass heats things better than plastic and we have glass bottles.

Nope. I hated the one we got. Once they are eating 4+ ounces it takes FOREVER to warm up. 20 seconds in the microwav

  • I don't think it's worth it. Also, we use Playtex drop-ins, and the warmer melted the bottom of the bottle bc they're not made to work together. We rely on the old hot water method.

  • I use a little crock pot that I keep full of water on warm next to my bed. The water stays hot and it was only fifteen dollars. It only takes about five minutes to heat 2 frozen plastic Medela containers, about 2.5 oz.
  • We have a Safety 1st bottle warmer and it's completely worth it. It's so much quicker than using a cup of hot water. You put water into the warmer (according to the amount of BM or formula that's in the bottle), put the bottle inside, and turn it on. I

  • We got tired of the hot water method and got a munchkin one from Walmart.  We just put in the amount of water recommended and turn it on.  It only takes a couple minutes.  We also got one for in the car.  It is best for long car rides

  • I don't think so only  because I have limited counter space as it is. What I do is have a insulated travel coffee mug. I keep that by my sink all the time and when it's bottle time I let the water run until it's steamy hot, fill up my mug and plac

  • I love the Dr Brown warmer, we use it for every bottle. I turn it on, change DD and by the time I'm done the warmer is done. Definitely worth the $$!

  • We have the Dr Brown's and love it! Use it every day.
  • We have the munchkin one (non-digital) and it is a life saver. We've used it from the day she came home from the hospital and even bought one for my mom to keep at her house.
