Fussing after nursing for a bit?

I EBF and lately I've been noticing that about 4 minutes into eating he'll start fussing, unlatching and relatching. This goes on for 30 seconds or longer before he calms down and goes back to eating. He's eating the same average amount of time 7min. No other changes in behavior.

I see his doctor on Monday for his 2 month appt, but thought I'd ask here first. Anyone else go through something similar??

  • We BF and FF. Mr. C was having issues with both, fussing, pulling off, crying, etc. turns out he has reflux. He has gotten much better with Prevacid but still can get fussy from time to time. Not sure your LO has same issues just letting you know our expe
  • Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem. At 5 minutes we go through the same cycle: unlatch, cry, root, relatch. Only difference is Elsie doesn't calm back down and finish eating. :/ Doesn't matter which breast. Burping doesn't help. Boo!

  • We were having similar problems and we also found out LO has reflux. She is like a different baby while taking her Zantac. Good luck.
  • We are having the exact same thing happen!  DS is EBF too.  I find that when he does that if I take a minute and give him the paci and burp him he'll go right back to eating and usually eat for another 10 min.  Usually he's 10 min and done,

  • We experienced this maybe 3-4 weeks ago? A couple of things helped us...

First off, I have pretty strong letdown, so I would lean back during letdown so that the milk was going against gravity. Did that for a couple of weeks and it got better.</p
