Lump on DS neck

My son bent his head to the side today and I noticed he had about a 1/2" size lump on the right side of his neck. I felt it and it moves around like a cyst but he made me instantly nervous. He has had a little cold since last weekend. Does this sound like a swollen lymph node? Anyone have experience with this? We have a dr apt next week and I will be asking his dr.

    It does sound like a swollen lymph node. Is your LO on the skinny side? When Ds was a baby his always seemed to protrude out quite a bit. His pedi said that because he was so thin it seemed like they were bigger than they were. Whatever the case, good luc

    It is most likely a lymph node. Our pedi showed me a graph of the way that specific systems in the body develop as a child ages. The endocrine system including lymph nodes develop disproportionately faster than most of the others, so the nodes seem bigger
