My son is just about 3 months so I thought I would ask you ladies. I still swaddle him for night (he sleeps decent at night) and also for naps. We have a big problem with half hour naps and him being cranky/overtired throughout the day
I have tried almost everything suggested for 30 hour/45 intruder naps but nothing really helps him get past that sleep cycle.
He uses a pacifier but if it pops out of his mouth he often wakes up (usually at the end of the 30 minutes) and will not go back down with me and he obviously can't put it back in. At night, after his first good stretch of sleep (doesn't seem to mind if its in or not then) I have to do the same thing from about 4 am on.
He is really into his hands lately and sucks on them for comfort. A part of me wonders if I should try without the swaddle or with one hand/both hands out so he can soothe himself if he wakes up. Though when I have tried before in the past his arms go nuts.
Was there a time when you dropped the swaddle so LO could suck on his fingers or do you continue to swaddle and have to keep popping the pacifier in for LO?
Re: Pacifier or Fingers/Fist
He sleeps with both arms out now and either soothes with his hands or cries when he wants his pacifier
