Please tell me it gets better! *Long

I just need someone to tell me it's going to get better.

V sleeps well when she finally goes to sleep, it's just getting her there. She's 3w today.

Lately she's been cluster feeding like a MoFo from like 6pm until past midnight- that's not normal right? I'm in that rocking chair for almost 9 hours a day feeding her. Sometime she feeds for 25-30 minutes on each breast, then wants to start over immediately. I don't know if there's even any milk in there?!?  She doesn't cry a lot so I can't really complain about that, it's just a lot of feeding.

Everyone said my nipples wouldn't be sore anymore after two weeks. They got better, then she hit a growth spurt and started feeding around 12 times a day(for 30-50 minutes each time) and they got sore all over again. She's latching well for the most part-it only hurts for the first minute then it feels fine, but when she falls asleep on the boob she chews a little on them, hurts again then!

She gets one bottle of pumped BM by DH in the middle of the night, if it's not enough he'll give her formula till she's full.  On top of that she did 12 full feedings yesterday and most days last week. Is that normal? Does it settle down? Is it because she's going to be a giant? DH is 6'6" and tall folks run in his family.

I'm losing my mind. I'm a schedule person and a control freak. I haven't slept at the same time in 21 days.

Is there a light at the end of this tunnel?

My second son was liek that with the cluster feedings at night.  Thankfully, it only lasted about 10 days and then he was out of it.  But those ten days were absolute HELL  for me.

It sounds like she's comfort nursing too (i.e. usi

  • My LO is also 3 weeks today too and has been doing this crazy cluster feeding the past few days. Like 1am-5am. I have never seen darker circles under my eyes.

  • DD is 3 weeks today and all of the above is happening! Although I formula feed. I'm hoping it gets better soon because its starting to get to me. I'm not good without a routine.
  • All I can say is, 3 weeks sucked A$$.

  • IT DOES GET BETTER!!  I was in the same place you are in about 2 weeks ago.   The lack of sleep, sore nipples, frustration of not being able to have a schedule, cluster feeding, feeling like you are constantly living out of one rocking chair,

  • I agree with PPs that she is using you as a pacifier. Does her suck change? My son used me as a pacifier until I clued in and bought him several types. He likes the Soothies the best. Once he goes from constant long sucks to flutter sucking/ slowing down,

  • my kiddo is/was the same way. itwas awful t o get her to sleep for a while. she would eat like crazy, fall asleep, and wake up again as soon as i put her down. 3 weeks was probably when it peaked. we swaddle her andthat helps.

  • Thank you all for the advice! I've tried a pacifier 3 different kinds and she's not interested.
Last night we tried passing her off to DH for soothing to give me time between feedings and it worked we will do this more often. I know she's using me

  • I was going insane with the constant feeding. I had nipples that felt like the skin was removed with sandpaper. I like to sneak a paci in her mouth but keep her head rested  on my breast and that seems to do the trick now.<span style="font-size:10
