Babies: 3 - 6 Months

45 minute intruder

Does anyone else feel like the "solutions" to this are total BS. Have they actually worked for anyone? I'm thinking some babies just nap this long. Ideas?

Re: 45 minute intruder

  • My DD is a cat napper and and as been since 2 months. I have tried a lot of these so called "solutions" and have had no sucsess. Went to my Dr. and he told me that its normal and that its a phase that they should grow out of.

  • I agree! I have tried everything to get DS to nap longer and it just doesn't happen! The only thing that works is if I'm wearing him or he naps on someone which is not ideal. Yesterday he napped two hours in the Beco which was great for him because he got

  • Yup. Except we don't usually make it to 45. We are half hour on.the.dot.

I've tried everything because he is legit tired and cranky afterwards.

I guess I don't understand why it doesn't happen at night. I am so thankful for it

  • The one thing that has worked for me is to intervene on my DS about 20-30 minutes into his nap when he is changing sleep rhythms and waking for a period. I'd pick him up and rock him back to sleep for a longer nap. I did that about a month ago, and he

  • Good to know my LO isn't the only one. My doctor said the same thing. That "it's normal for him" and to not compare him to babies that sleep differently. I hate feeling like I did or am doing something wrong all the time. I guess just accepting it for now

When we had trouble with this, I put Noah in the swing for his naps and he could get through the sleep cycle transition much better and his naps were longer. Once he was consistently sleeping for 1-2 hours, I moved him back to the crib for naps and now he

  • When napping in the boppy next to me, I shush her and she goes back to sleep. In the swing she needs to see me, then nods off to sleep again. Holding her she only stirs at the 35-45 min mark but doesn't wake. Crib, she wakes and cries at 35 min. So I'm

  • This is my son exactly. I'm a much happier person now that I've tried all the solutions, none of them has worked, and I've finally accepted that he takes 40 minute naps. 4-5 of them a day :)

  • Any ladies in this boat also have a LO that wakes every two hours at night? This is me again. We were doing so well and night sleeps improved for about two weeks until the four month shots and now were back to this. I am so tired.
