Diapers leaks again

After months of no leaks at night, DS is suddenly leaking at night. He's long and lean (88% height, 50% weight). No matter if I put the diaper on, his daddy or his grandma, we get leaks at night and during naps. We've gone up a size, we have night diapers. His penis gets tucked down when he's changed. I've contemplated switching to cloth diapers to see if that helps. Anyone else have this problem? If so, what did you do that worked? TIA!

Re: Diapers leaks again

  • We had this issued, too and someone recommended to us that BRU has these things called "diaper boosters" which are almost like sanitary napkins that you put in the diaper. I never tried it but it's an idea.  Also, they have inserts for cloth diapers

  • Try switching brands. We all the sudden starting having SOAKING leaks out of Pampers. We tried the Target brand and they are fabulous! No more leaks! We still do up a size at night though, just because he can really soak them.

  • Targets brand also seems really good for boys, because they have a good amount of absorbent padding in the front where it's really needed.

  • Huggies Snug and Dry diapers worked the best for our son.  And it seemed by the time that he was a toddler that the other families had their kids in Huggies Snug and Dry diapers as well at daycare (you could see what diaper they were wearing from the

  • Pampers overnight always leaked for us so we switched to huggies overnight up a size.  He still leakes through once every couple of weeks, but for the most part they have worked great . We do have to fasten them way tighter then we normally do.
  • Cloth works great. With that being said, don't try it unless you're in it for the long haul and don't mind spending a bunch of money up front. The types of diapers that are good for overnight can be expensive and you might have to try different types t

  • We use diaper doublers, aka diaper boosters. After trying so many things, this was the best solution for us. Other diaper brands caused rashes, and we are already up a size

  • Do you give him water in the evenings? My son was peeing through his nighttime diaper every day for a week until I realized that we had just started giving him water after dinner. He now only gets water with breakfast and lunch, and hasn't leaked through

  • Thanks all! I think we're going to try diaper boosters first. He doesn't drink any plain water yet, but still has a bottle in the evening before bed.

  • I would try using Pampers Swaddlers.  I tried the diaper boosters and they worked sometimes but not always.  Pampers Swaddlers seem to hold it all in.  Good luck!
  • Pampers cruisers come up higher in front and back. They fit our tall, lean dd well and don't leak urine. They fit her better than the same size pampers swaddlers because they're cut higher.
