Projectile poop.. HELP!

DD is a master or projectile poop. She really doesn't like to poop in her diaper it seems like. We try to change wet diapers at least every 3-4 hours, and it seems like every time I open her diaper up, she decides THAT'S the perfect time to poop. We layer up the clean diaper under the dirty one, and usually I'm quick enough to catch the poop, but we have had multiple occasions (I'm talking 20+ in three weeks!) where we end up scrubbing the walls and carpet and washing the changing pad. When she DOES poop in the diaper, we'll wait a good 15-30 minutes for more and thinking everything is safe start her diaper change.. same results. It's getting really frustrating and time consuming. None of my friends with kids have had anything similar - any thoughts?

  • Put a towel (or washable or dispoable pad) over the changing table to lay on and immediately lay a towel over her?  Could at least contain the mess...

  • You're not alone.  Sugar and spice my @ss.  My little girl projectile poops constantly.  He masterpiece was getting it INSIDE my brand new Kate Spade diaper bag.  It got IN my wallet.  Ew.  I haven't come up with any brillian
  • My little guy does the same thing! He ONLY poops when I'm changing him and projectile poops each diaper change! It does not matter how long we wait to change him! I am going crazy!!!
  • I don't know if this would work, but could you open up the old diaper, wait until she strains/pushes, and then hold it back up to catch the poop? Thankfully I have not had this problem, but I know a couple whose little boy peed every time they did a diape

  • I'm so sorry but this made me LOL, but only because I've been projectile pooped on so many times. I have a little boy so I've also been peed on more times then I can count. I think when we lift their legs to change their diaper it just the right amount a

  • Have you tried sitting her up with her legs pushing against your legs or belly? This or bringing her feet up and legs to chest while laying on her back seem to help our LO go.
