Strabismus and stroke/CP

I wrote a blog post about this and is much easier to just link here (and I'm feeling a bit lazy/exhausted to retype it all), but has anyone had this experience?

I am so, so pissed off at the Ophthalmologist for "waiting to see how bad it gets"!?! 

Would love to hear about any experiences you've had with strabismus and treatment... Vision therapy, glasses, patch, drops, etc.  Going to see a specialist tomorrow and would love to go armed with questions.

  • Yeah, I don't really get why the OP would want to "wait it out". Is the second opinion person an OP with a specialty in neurological conditions? You can find that info out on their website sometimes.

  • I definitely would get another opinion.  In my experience, my mommy instinct has always been right and sometimes it means arguing with doctors.  My son also has CP and he has strabismus, nystagmus, and hyperopia.  He got glasses at 8 months

  • DS2 has CP and also has strabismus with esotropia and is significantly farsighted.  Now you know the basics.  :-)   FYI - the vast majority of kiddos are fairly farsighted and it improves as they get older.  I didn't read in de
