Babies: 3 - 6 Months

eczema

DS1 got sent home yesterday after the daycare provider noticed a patch of dry skin on the top of his head.  When she discovered a bit of it in his diaper she called us and said it may be ring worm.  We called the doctors office and the nurse said she is 99% sure its eczema and he does not need to come in.  We have put diaper rash cream and lotion on it.  It looks like it is healing a little bit.  I have never had ring worm so I am wondering.  Isn't it painful?  Like wouldn't he cry if it was bothering him?

Re: eczema

  • Itchy, but not really painful. I don't really think he'd be crying over it, though.

  • also do you need a doctor's note to clear him to go to daycare?  just a thought since they sent him home.

  • No I didn't. Thankfully cause I would have been sitting at the doctors office fuming.

  • DD had eczema that also looked like ringworm all over her scalp. Aquaphor and Aveeno didn't touch it. Cerave worked miracles. The bodywash and cream.
