So, I went to my GP yesterday after battling a sinus infection for 2 weeks.. just as I thought it was finally getting better without requiring meds, it migrates to my ears and leads me to double ear infections.. Whelp, so much for that.. should have just started amoxicillin 2 weeks ago and saved all the hassle! Anyway, I digress..

At my appt, my BP was elevated.. 156/98. Ugh. The nurse took it 3 times. With DS, I was induced for BP issues (borderline Pre-E -- my 24hr catch was "borderline" like 2 weeks before I was induced -- we hadn't repeated it immediately before induction, but OB suspects that would have been over, too). My BP before induction was like 220ish/150's. Anyway, they've been tracking my BP closely, and it's been great so far.. ~100-110/70's. This is the 2nd time I've had a high reading.. about a week or so ago (literally a couple of days after my last OB appointment), I was at my Mom's and my Dad was taking his BP with a home electronic one.. we were all messing around taking each others, and mine was kinda high, but I blew it off and just figured it was because it's an @home one and probably not that accurate.. it was like 140/85.

My next OB appointment is in April (2nd week).. do you think I need to call and let them know, or something I can just hold up on and talk to them about when I go next and see how it is then?

It also doesn't help that when I was havnig BP issues, my biggest "clue" was that I didn't feel right.. I felt unbalanced and dizzy, etc. Out of nowhere, I'd just get really sick. Well, for the past 2 weeks, that's been happening quite often, too, but I've been attributing it to the fact that I have double ear infections and I feel like my head is under water!

Call your doc. Those numbers are borderline to definite pre e numbers and your doc needs to know. FX the BP is just up bc you're sick and will go down once you're better.

So, just called.. apparently, my OB's office only answers the phones until noon on Friday (who knew?!). I definitely don't think I need to call the on call doc about this, but I'll just call on Monday and let them know.

I agree about calling. Many cold meds, especially decongestants, can raise your BP. However, high BP, especially with a history, is not something to mess around with.

Call your doctor. If you're worried enough to ask here then you're worried enough to call! Pre e is nothing to mess with.

I'd call. While you're right, home machines (especially using someone else's) can be off, those office readings should be reported.

I'd call the on call. I've had mild pre e and even that was nothing to mess with. Pre e can go from ho hum to deadly very quickly. Better to call and maybe have to go in for a check or maybe have your BP monitored while on abx than what could happen.

I did call. She had me go and measure it a few more times today at the local CVS.. Measurements ranged from top 147-154 with bottom between 89-95. I did 4 readings in 20 minutes. Called again to update, but haven't heard back yet.
