What is the main difference? From what I can tell a mini convertible crib will covert to a twin bed and a regular convertible crib to a full size - so is the the only difference, the mini crib is a little smaller?
I don't think any crib converts to a full sized bed! That would be HUGE. Kate has a regular convertible crib from PBK and it is not even full twin sized. My parents have a mini crib, and it is more the size of a pack n play. Kate barely fits it in anymore at 19 months (she is TALL though...35 inches).
I think that convertible cribs usually do convert to full - you use the headboard and footboard and buy a full mattress. ?I don't know how big a mini crib would convert to, but you would probably have to look for the correct size sheets since they wouldn't be standard size.
Oh! I get it now. I thought you just swapped out the railings on the crib for bedrails but used the same mattress. I think they call that the "toddler bed" and that is all we were planning on using her crib fora nd is all the conversion kit does). I'll just buy a regular headboard/footboard when she's ready for an actual bed. I don't even get how the one we have would work....it is not full sized so a bigger mattress would stick out the sides.
