Eating or lack there of

My daughter just will not eat meals. I'm going crazy. She keeps asking for food and when I give it to her, she screams her head off. She'll snack if I let her, but meals forget about it. She's a picky eater which makes this even more frustrating. She was eating fine(her limited menu anyway) then had a fever last week. Since then, feeding her has been a NIGHTMARE. I've been cutting snacks out trying to force her to eat, but she'll just not eat. She won't drink Pediasure either. Help!

  • Limit snacks.  We had to cut the afternoon snack and have dinner early.

Have you ever tried pediasure?  yuck!  We do carnation instant breakfast for DS1 because he has been dropping weight.  If she isn't loosing I would n

  • She won't even taste the Pediasure. I hid her snacks and it's still not working, she will not eat.

  • We have the same problem with dd. I give her smoothies when she just won't eat anything else, she'd live on them if I let her. You can add lots of fruits and veggies. It's not my ideal meal but at least I know she's getting something and it's healthy.
  • Mine won't touch them. I swear she only drinks water and an occasional juice box. She's a pain

  • Honestly, they will eat when they have to. My pedi told me sometimes a child will go a full day without eating a thing, but their body will make them eat when they need to. Keep at it and like PP said, limit the snacking until you see improvement. I have

  • Eat when she eats, give her what you are eating, and don't make a big deal out of it.  The more you push, the more she's going to resist!  Eating issues at this age are power issues 99% of the time.  The more you fight and cave to what s

  • So far breakfast was a lousy fight, but no snack. She ate lunch and I rewarded her with 1 cookie. The only snack she's had is a breadstick. She's been begging for snacks for the past half hour but I'm not giving in and I hope she eats dinner. We shall see

  • Sounds like she is holding out for snacks only. Don't give her anymore snacks and at some point she will be hungry enough to eat a meal.

  • Served dinner, she screamed like i was killing her. I'm done, this isn't a restaurant. She'll eat whenever

  • Just wanted to say you're not alone! Sicknesses are the worst too with an already terrible and picky eater. I would try to work on the pediasure. We eventually got ds to accept it after a LOT of effort and he now drinks 14-20oz per day of it. I'm convince
