Isn't Cocoa Butter supposed to smell good?!

This might be a little random and maybe its just me.  But everyday after I shower, I lotion up with Palmers Cocoa Butter, which supposed helps to reduce stretch marks later in pregnancy.  At first, the smell was a little strong, but I just delt with it.  Now I almost can't stand the smell of it, bleh!  The smell gives me an instant headache!

Anyone else experience this or am I the only weird one?! ha.

  • I use the same stuff. It smells pretty gross. I did read in the What to Expect When You Are Expecting book that there is no scientific proof that cocoa butter helps with stretch marks. Apparently its all genetics and they say to load up on vitamin C which

  • Unfortunately Cocoa Butter does not reduce stretch marks, so if you don't like the smell pick a different lotion you like.  Whether or not you get stretch marks is genetic.  Good luck!

Drink lots I water the key is to stay hydrated so when the skin does stretch it's not all dry. I know people say it doesn't work the coco butter but I'm sure it doesn't hurt
  • Real cocoa butter smells like chocolate and is actually really hard, there is no way you would be able to rub it on your skin. Most lotions use very small amount of cocoa butter and fragrance that isnt even close to cocoa butter....

  • I hate every smell, even smells I use to like. I can't stand perfumes or lotions right now. I'm just hyper sensitive i guess, I hope it ends soon. I can hardly cook without getting sick and I love to cook.

  • I just wanted to make a comment about Palmers Coco Butter..... It doesn't work! I used it faithfully 3 times a day with my first pregnancy ang I still got stretch marks, I really think that if your going to get stretch marks your just going to get them...
  • Yeah, no proof that Cocoa Butter reduces stretch marks. However staying hydrated and making sure you moisturizer your skin is key.
