WDYT?

So I'm 35 weeks with this kiddo now, and normally he is f'ucking wild.  He spends probably 80-90% of every day making my stomach look like it's got an alien inside.  If he's not stretching uncomfortably between my hip bones, he's jammed up into my ribs and kicking me constantly on my left side.  I'm serious when I say he never. stops. kicking.

Today, I think I may have felt him once.  Ex asked me how the baby was doing and I took it for granted and said he was fine.  But after we spoke I realized, wait...I can't recall feeling him at all yet today.  It's now 12:15 in the afternoon and still...I think I may have felt him shift ever-so-slightly when I switched positions at one point.

I'm doing a kick count now.  I had a bit of caffeine to see if I could jump-start the movements.  I'm about to have some ice-cold water and see about it.  But what would you guys do?  How long would you wait before possibly calling the OB?  I can't say I've ever been worried about baby movements before, but this is such a drastic and sudden change.  If he doesn't move soon, I'm going to be pretty worried.

  • I would call. If only to put your mind at ease. That said, J did that to me often and nearly gave me heart attacks, he was a mover so if I didn't feel him I would panic, I would make a call to the nurse line and then he would kick all over the place. Babi

  • Ditto.  If you are worried call in.  Or make a trip in.  I wouldn't care what anyone thinks if I am worried about my baby I would be in the car faster than you can say snot.

If you are worried, you should call. It's not over cautious to trust your mommy instinct.

  • I'm with others that I'd call if you feel worried.

This baby in my belly is SUPER active, all the time, so I know what you mean... you just know when something is "off",  ya know?

  • Totally call.

When I was pregnant with J once this happened. It had been hours since I felt him kick. I tried eating sugar and caffeine and laying on my left side and nothing worked. Turns out he was just sleeping or something. But I was sti

  • I agree. Call.
  • Thanks for the replies, ladies! Just as I was getting ready to make the call he leapt back into action. He didn't stay active long, but it was enough to let me know he's there. I think today must be a growth day or something. I'm still keeping a keen eye
