    I think The Girlfriends' Guide to Pregnancy is a good one to start with because it has a nice friendly tone. I didn't care for What to Expect When You're Expecting because it spent an awful lot of time talki

  • Congrats on the pregnancy and welcome to the board.  Personally, I liked What to Expect When You're Expecting.  I think the best idea would be to flip through the books at a bookstore and see what format works for you.  GL!

    I liked the Mayo Clinic Guide to Pregnancy.  

    Me: 38, PCOS/ DH: 37

    DD born 12.21.09, conceived w/ injects and IUI

  • My favorite books were the Mayo Clinic one (for factual, scientific information) and the Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy (for commiseration and laughs on what it's REALLY like to be pregnant).  I didn't care as much for What to Expect, but a lot o

  • I also have the Mayo clinic guide.  My friend gave me a copy of What to Expect but honestly, I may have opened it once or twice.

  • I haven't opened any of mine yet, but I did want to suggest going to a local thrift store/Goodwill.  I picked up all the "standard" baby books for $1.50 each.  They had a ton!!
