Re: swelling

  • my OB said if it doesn't go down after propping them up; if they aren't symetrical; if the swelling is accompanied by high blood pressure; otherwise, its normal and most women swell.

  • Unfortunately it is normal unless accommpanied with high blood pressure. I was swollen the last 2 months of my 1st pregnancy and almost 2 months after my daughter was born. Now I'm starting to swell already, ho hum

  • I wake up with swollen hands every day...my feet are usually swollen by the time i get home from work.  Agree with PPs - my doctor said so far it is normal but to keep an eye on blood pressure.

  • Unless it was sudden and in your hands in face it's probably not worth a call to the doctor and is normal, pregnancy swelling.

Decreasing your sodium and caffeine intake and increasing potassium and protein intake can help with swelling.&nb

  • Same as others have said. If your BP is normal and it hasn't come on suddenly, it's most likely normal. If you're concerned, call your OB. They'll prob just check your BP to be sure. Drink lots of water and keep your feet elevated, when possible! I also f

  • my doc said pretty normal. i started swelling everywhere 48 hours ago and it hasn't gone away. I am 35 weeks and i was told to pretty much expect it for the rest of the pregnancy. Elevation should help but it doesn't make it go away completely. And i wake
  • Eating a whole, large cucumber helps my swelling for hours. Maybe try that if you have no other reason to be concerned. You can also eat watermelon.

  • My hands have been really bad this time. Left in particular. So bad that I can hardly use it I wake up and can't even close it all the way. Dr told me to get a wrist guard. I've only had it on a few hours and I can already see a huge improvement. He also
