Getting frustrated!

DD is 7 weeks old and refuses to sleep anywhere but my arms STILL! I've tried everything. We have a bedtime routine- bath at 8:00, then a good feeding (top her off with formula after BF session to make sure she's good and full, and then I try and lay her down between 9-9:30. She's usually asleep in her bassinet for about a half hour and then she's fussing and ready to be picked up. I've been trying the pick up put down method over and over but it only seems to wake her up even more. I swaddle her- she seems to hate it. The only way we both get sleep is if I prop myself up with pillows on the couch but I don't like doing that because it's not safe. I don't know what I'm doing wrong!

  • I have no idea but I'm sitting here holding mine because he won't sleep either! It seems to be this past week for us. I thought I was due a good sleeper since my first was so bad at it but I guess not!

  • Just another endorsement for the halo sleep sack... Though we swaddle arms in and get 4-6 hours. Tonight I actually had to express a few ounces after 5 hours because I was so painfully engorged. He was up 40 minutes later. But like pp mentioned, we can't

  • Ah I am in the same boat!!! I slept the exact same way on the couch for the first four weeks, got sick of being cramped up and now sleep propped up on my bed with him. We have tried the sleep sack, he HATES being swaddled. I really don't know what the ans

  • Maybe try some white noise too? That helped us a lot when we moved LO to his crib. Before that we would put him down and he would immediately wake up :

  • You are not alone. First sleep of the night is in the moby wrap on the couch. Then bed sharing after that. Ugh!

  • Have you tried a rock n play? I call it a baby hammock. I had the same problem and at two weeks tried the rock n play and it was the best baby item we purchased. She sleeps from 9 pm to 6 am everynight and never wakes up between then. I just started putti
