Babies: 3 - 6 Months

I am a bad friend

My friend had a baby the week before I got married (Oct. 2012) I realized while wrting her thank you (she sent me a present though they couldn't attend) that I had never sent her a card or gift or anything! I am a flake in general...and I feel like a jerk.

Note: We were roomates in college, haven't really hung out in about 5 years except at friends events (parties, weddings, baby showers etc.) I was not invited to her baby shower, she was not invited to my bridal shower (they were both small mostly family events)

Is it too late? I don't want to not acknowledge her baby! Should I send a card and maybe a gift card so she get something she needs? How much would be appropriate? This is the first of my college group to have a baby, and I'm kind of lost. Thanks!

It's never too late to send a gift or gift card =) I'd say anything around $30 or more would be a good amount?

  • better late than never.  just remember, it's the thought that counts.

  • I wouldn't worry too much.  I just had a friend write me to say, "Hey!  I'm way over due for seeing your new one!"  People get busy.  It's ok.  Life goes on.

  • I'd probably send a card and a small gift card for somewhere like Target and say I hope everything is going well!

  • I have to say, a gift is never unwelcome. If someone wants to send me a gift card I would be thrilled, regardless if it's the "appropriate" time or not. If it makes you feel better, I just gave my BFF her Christmas present yesterday because I forgot it

  • Thanks! I'm on it!
