Hi Ladies,

While LO is asleep I am finally taking the time to intro.  My rainbow baby (Aidan Patrick) was born on February 26th at 36 weeks via emergency c-section following a heart deceleration at my NST and a fun ambulance ride to the hospital. He was 4.9 lbs and 17 inches. He spent 36 hours in the NICU for sugar regulation then 9 days in the hospital's Special Care Nursery as a feeder/grower.  He's been home now for a week and a half.  We've had some challenges with breastfeeding (supplementing with expressed breast milk and formula, premature baby having latch issues, needing a nipple shield and a slight tongue tie- plus the pumping/feeding schedule almost killed me- I posted about it in the Breastfeeding forum yesterday).  The good news is that he has been gaining weight like a champ and as of this morning's LC appointment, he was up to 5.11 lbs!  And we got him to latch without the shield!

I am so happy to be joining you all- I can't wait to catch up with you all.

    Congrats on your adorable little rainbow!  Good luck with breastfeeding, it can be rough in the beginning, but totally worth it in the end.

    Congrats on Aidan's arrival, he's precious! And great job with the BFing - having him latch without the shield so soon is HUGE. After the schedule you've been doing, it will seem so much easier once he's just BFing.

    Atleighdan, tx so much for your response yesterday! You and the others who responded really helped me to feel less alone/isolated and that meant a lot. The past 24 hrs have been better.

    Welcome and congrats!

    BFing is hard. My LO has a posterior and anterior tie and we decided to get it cut. I can't keep him in any clothes for longer than two weeks now he is growin so fast and his nursing sessions are down to 10 min a piece.

    Me: 37 DH: 40 TTC since 9/09
    #1 BFP 1/10/11; missed m/c discovered 7w5d
    IF Dx: Endo, hetero MTHFR mutation, poor morphology
    #1 IUI: 1/18/12 = BFN
    #1 IVF/ICSI 4/2/12 = 2 x 7-cell and 1 x 5-cell transferred (3dt) = BFP!!
    H was born at 41w2d on 12/29/12 - be still my heart!
    #2 IVF/ICSI 1/19/14 = 2 x 8 cells transferred (3dt) = BFP!! EDD 10/09/14
    M&W born at 37 weeks on 9/18/14 - I am the momma of 3 boys!!!
