Anyone have real experience with G diapers

My husband is all about them, but I wanted to see if anyone has had any really awful experiences with them.

Re: Anyone have real experience with G diapers

  • We used them for a few weeks before switching to cloth. I didn't really like them much. When DD pooped it got all over the place.

I think cloth is MUCH easier (and cheaper)!

I know some girls on here use and like them though.

    HTH!

  • Not sure if you live in an older part of town but our waste management sends out a news letter. The last one had a thing about G diapers and how even if it goes down your toliet, it dosent mean it makes it all the way to the plant to be processed because of the old pipes and possible roots of trees and such blocking the lines.

I just love my CD and how cheap they can be.. and super cute.

  • We have used them for a couple weeks now because my CD stash isn't big enough yet to do full time CDing. We haven't had any leaks at all - I have had to wash the liners a couple times, but no big deal. I think it's gross to try to get the inserts apart and into the toilet, so I just toss 'em in the trash.

They are more expensive than disposables, though, so I won't be buying anymore. I definitely like my cloth diapers better. But I like gDiapers better than 'sposies.

    Hope that helps!

  • I keep trying to like them, but honestly, I don't & I think they're a waste of money.  They're so much more difficult than a CD and they're so expensive.  I don't like flushing them (worried about our toilet/pipes), can't compost that many wet ones (b/c our compost bins are small) and think it's pretty gross to just toss them in the trash.  (I suppose I could put each in a grocery bag, but how EF is that!??)  They don't fit DS very well (I'm hoping maybe he'll grow into them?). And that waterproof liner thing is just a pain.  I don't know how you could not get poop on it w/ a non-solid poop.  I've tried stuffing w/ a prefold a few times & they seem way bulkier than just using a prefold & cover.  I wish I hadn't wasted my time/money on them.
