Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Another solids question

I know, so many people have solids questions. However, I'm curious how much your seven month old eats. My DD will be 7 months on Monday. She drinks about 22 ounces of formula a day, eats 1 ounce of food with one tablespoon of cereal twice a day and two ounces of food once a day. Is that enough? Does she need more or less? TIA!

Re: Another solids question

  • I EBF so am not sure about milk, but DS eats a few tablespoons of cereal and/or purees a day.

  • I don't know a milk total because I BF. At daycare he eats about 12-16 oz pumped breastmilk, plus 4 oz solid food. Then at home he nurses on demand and gets another 4 oz solid food.

  • We are EBF, but he nurses 6-8 times a day, plus eats two 2oz solids. He always seems hungry, so I'm going to try adding another solids meal (like a breakfast, lunch, dinner type schedule).

  • I EBF plus give 2 2ounce servings of solids a day. My DD gets so made when all her food is gone. She always wants more. I think it's time I give her more quantity or throw in a 3rd solid feeding each day.

  • Food Before one is just for fun.... so really it doesn't matter what if your LO is eating enough.  Our Ped did say that they prefer 3 meals a day by 9 months.  LO will be 8 months next week- he eat about 2 1 ounce purees a day...but there have b
  • It does sound like little solid food but she is not drinking too much formula either so I don't really think you should increase solids at his point. Once she hits 8 months, you can reduce to 20 oz of formula and 16 oz by 10 months but I would not reduce
